Grenville Street Halls, Liverpool (review)

I've just moved out of the Grenville Street halls for summer and thought I'd post some information for anyone who's moving in next year or considering choosing to live here, just so you know what to expect.

Good points:
- Situated in a great location: five/ten minute walk to Bold Street, Liverpool One, shops, bars, restaurants, Tesco, Sainsburys and a short walk to Uni of Liverpool and JMU. Even though it's in the city centre, it's on a quiet street next to Chinatown.
- Pretty courtyard.
- Very secure, you need your key fob to open most doors. The reception and security staff are also lovely and friendly.
- Big rooms with double beds, en suites and loads of storage space even under the bed. They're nicely furnished and just look nice.
- The kitchens in the 5 bedroom flats are huge, everything is brand new, there's two fridge freezers and enough cupboards for everyone, breakfast bar with stools, a big sofa, TV and loads of windows.
- It's generally quiet in the daytime which is great.

Bad points:
- There is literally nothing bad to say about these halls except that they are ridiculously warm, but it's not really much of a problem!

Anything else just ask x
Hey, I'm in a sticky situation with accommodation as I didn't get an offer of accommodation anything like I requested from UoL. I started to look into ''private'' accommodation for students and come across sanctuary students and found Grenville and really liked the look of it. I was just wondering if there was a mix of students say from UoL, LJMU and the others or is it predominately LJMU students like the Marybone options? I suppose this wouldn't be such a problem I suppose I just don't wanna seem like one of the only few from UoL if its the case haha!

I was in the exact same situation as you, I'm at UoL and I didn't get offered the accommodation that I wanted. It's honestly a complete mix of students from all universities. I'd probably say there were more UoL students than anything else but don't worry, like I said it's mixed and it's a great place to live so you'll be absolutely fine  hope this helps.

Hi, I'm a bit unsure what LJMU accommodation to book for september. Just wondering if you could please tell me a bit more about Grenville Street? is it sociable? do they offer mixed gender flats?

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a flatmate for our flat of five girls in Europa Student Accomodation open to UoL and LJMU students, 10 min walk to town and concert square (clubs), 5 min walk to UoL campus.
Locatednext to the Royal Hospital, Lidl, Tescoes, Dominoes, and near several other shops and restaurants. 24x7 security, onsite maintenance and washing facilities.
Double bed, ensuite with a large study desk and storage. Shared kitchen, dining and lounge area with a flatscreen TV and free wifi. All bills (inc gas, lighting, heating and electricty) are included in the price for £123 a week. (Cheaper than uol Student halls [no transport costs as you're so close to everything]
Accomodation is full of students across liverpool and includes social spaces and social events and car parking.

hi ive lived in Grenville Street last year and the accomodation is super nice and I couldnt recommend it enough! It has sociable events for the whole of the halls to take part in and many flats have parties and so theyll be lots of chances to socialise. And they offer mixed gender flats as I was in one! great overall !
