Allopolyploidism Help

A triploid plant is formed through fertilisation of a diploid gamete (2n=16) and a haploid gamete (n=8). If the average number of chromosomes in the gamete of the triploid is 9, how many chromosomes are lost on average during the full single meiotic division.

Would it be 15 chromosomes lost? As the number of chromosomes in allopolyploids is 2x the F1 chromosome number (46), and hence the average gamete should have 24 chromosomes?.
