Retaking AS's and applying to UCL

hey, i was just wondering, how funny are ucl about retakes and stuff? I've been pretty ill this year and have only had time to study hard for 3 subjects, which meant i've completely left maths behind and have done no work for it. I'm expecting a low pass if a pass at all i know the entry requirements for law at UCL are A*AA and a pass at an a level. i was thinking to make up for it i would teach myself the AS physcology course and take the exam next year, which i am confident i could do well in. would this hinder my chances of getting into UCL even if i attain all my other grades?
