Hello,
Lost my mind and I am planning on going back to Uni to hopefully study Diagnostic Radiography in 2015. Im 25 and from Ireland, already completed a university degree over here (A BA in Irish and Psychological Studies) so not exactly relevant experience. Took me this long to work out what I wanted to do in life.
Moving to the UK would be a big deal from me as I would be moving my partner and son over with me. Trying to arrange work experience at the moment in a number of different settings and I am taking a FETAC (similar to BTEC I think) course in Anatomy and Physiology. Not really sure what my chances are of getting in to university, especially considering that I plan on applying only to Salford, for the main reason I have lots of family in the Greater Manchester Area and not sure I would manage the move over without them.
I'm not quite sure how it all works so blindly just going along with things at the moment, not sure how my personal statement will work out as it literally looks like I woke up one morning and chose radiography out of a hat, never did much science until university when I did a bit of neuroscience and neuropharmacology at Uni, which i actually loved and my employment background is secretarial, anyway hoping the work experience and the anatomy and physiology courses will help rectify that in some way. I have done some reading into the work of a diagnostic radiographer and I really do feel that this is what I want to do, Im hoping my work experience will further confirm this and that my efforts this year will help me get an offer!
