Aston ahead of Kings College London on university league tables!

On the complete university guide league table 2015:

Aston - 27th (previous year 27th)
KCL - 28th (previous year 19th)

On the gaurdian university league table 2015:

Aston - 22nd (previous year 30th)
KCL - 40th (previous year 32nd)

I have firmed Aston. And I always had the idea about going through adjustment into kcl. But it seems like KCL has dropped its standards and Aston is gaining momentum.
Whatever the case (and don't trust Guardian's tables) Aston just doesn't have the reputation or prestige that King's College has as an old and respected institution. Don't rely on league tables!
I hope you didn't base your choice on league tables.

Arguably, the most important column for you is probably the graduate prospect one (if you're basing everything on league tables) and that will only be important to you in the year that you graduate.

The Guardian table is a load of rubbish.

Wow, this cannot be serious... Please don't tell me you based your decision on that? The national tables are mostly always flawed, I always tend to look at international ones, albeit with a pinch of salt, and there you won't find Aston probably in the top 300 whereas KCL will probably be in the top 40/50..

Erm,guardian league table.
Enough said.
The Guardian league table is a load of nonsense - more so than the rest of them, which is quite a feat.

The *overall* guardian table is measuring something very different to the other tables - it's as much of a nonsense as any other table which tries to compare Liverpool Hope with Imperial objectively.

Overall tables are by definition nonsense unless they're based on a single metric - combining metrics at a university level is misleading in all cases.

The subject tables for the Guardian include a lot more information (and more relevant info - who gives a **** about the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise in the year!) than the other subject tables.
