Applying to university for a different course while already a university student

Hi guys

I am currently retaking my A-levels due to personal circumstances and hold conditional offers from UCL and university of Manchester for pharmacy. I've firmed UCL and insured Manchester.

However, I am almost certain that I won't meet the grade requirements again. I am anticipating grades BBB whereas I need and am predicted AAA. The chances of me being accepted by either uni with those grades is slim.

I'm considering going into nursing through clearing (since pretty much all unis want minimum ABB for pharmacy) and reapplying for the course of my choice whilst at uni. I really don't want to take out another year and resit....

Is this at all possible? Will I have to re-sit my A-levels again or will they expect me to get a 2:1/1st in my first year of uni?

I'd appreciate any advise/suggestions on how to go about this.
