pd capacitance

How do I work out the p.d ?

Try to use the ratios of the capacitance of each capacitor to distribute the PD across both of them

Because the central plates of the capacitors (the ones connected together) are isolated, then the total charge will be shared equally between the capacitors.

You need to work out the total equivalent capacitance for series capacitors which will be stated in your text book.

When you have that, the total charge is then found from

Q = CequivVsupply

Can you see where this is leading?
