Question about conditional offer

Hey all,

I'm currently due to finish my Access to HE course. I've a conditional offer to study Microbiology with Virology, the conditions of which state that all grades in Chemistry and Biology must be at distinction level, with the others subject modules at Merit or above.

The Access to HE course is three modules (Chem, Human Bio and Maths) each with two units with their own grades. So six grades in total. I'm on course to have Distinctions in all of them, bar Chem Unit 2.

The problem is they hired a new lecturer for chemistry who is terrible, not turning up, no knowledge of syllabus etc etc. So the chances of my Chem Unit 2 grade being Distinction are slim. The head of course where I study has said he's willing to speak to admissions about the situation. I'm just wondering whether anyone knows how strict the conditions are/how popular the course is, or if the head of course speaking to them would have any bearing?
