The only reason that this works for 300 is that the answer is between 6 and 7

A and B need to be either side of the answer

One more thing I have asked this before but to confirm will I be penalised for using pencil for Dijkstra's algorithm? And also letters as I go along (for the route)?

Hi sorry to revive an old thread but is it okay to use fractions for a trace? I seem to make mistakes otherwise - can I not quote the final print in decimals? Thanks

during the working out you can use anything but be mindful of the answer required when deciding if to use fractions or decimals for the final result
