Oh really? I live in Cheltenham which is in Gloucestershire haha! I choose Derby because of the course and the people that run it, came for an open day and loved it as well! then went for an interview and they were so welcoming, plus I have just got back from visiting them today and have made them my first choice! just about to apply for accommodation as we looked round some of the halls, peak court, today and they were really nice

Oh wow okay, the campus is in Cheltenham too! Is it a nice place to live/are there enough things to do/places to go and stuff?

I thought the same tbf, they were all really friendly and the course looks really good😊 I thought the same with Gloucestershire though as well, so going to applicant days to figure out which one is for me!

Cheltenham is really nice but the place where the halls are isn't the best area tbh:/ there is loads to do and places to go haha! town is really close to the university as well:smile: ah that's a good idea! how come you aren't thinking of putting Gloucestershire first and derby second or vice versa, how come you're having Wolverhampton as your reserve?

Ahh, see I'm the complete opposite as the campus is about 10 minutes drive away from my front door!! I've accepted Durham as my firm with York St John as my insurance! I also applied at Teesside and Sunderland for an education studies course and at Leeds Trinity for primary ed!

Hey, I've got an offer for Durham too! What's the Stockton area like? I'm not sure whether to make Durham my firm as the area looks pretty run down and dull :/ is there much of a nightlife/ things to do?

Hi,
I'm at Derby in 2nd year and not to put you off but the course had been awful this year, really gone downhill. Some lessons can be fantastic and others not useful at all. I'm supposed to start my teaching placement on Monday (10th) and half of the course still haven't been placed yet (5th today). It's a shame cause the area is nice and the campus is great.

hey since you go to derby i justw anetd to ask you a few things, since i am really considering debry to study primary education with qts:

Can you do a subject specialist module for the 3 years?? because on the website it says you can, but when i asked on applicants day, they say no, only for the four years

also, do you have art classrooms, english classrooms, which look like real life classrooms?

also, are the lecturers good, helpful, supportive and do they teach you well?

do people get good grades generally-- like 1st honours or 2:1?? liek do they help you to get these good grades?

also, generally, do you have a place (e.g. in the libarary) wher ethey can help you boost your essay marks

Please answer as many as you can and THANKYOU VERY VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE

Hey, I'm doing education studies at Derby, start in September! 😃

Going to be taking Ed Studies at Gloucester in September. Anyone else going here?
Hi! I'm currently in year 12 and I'm wanting to become a primary school teacher. However many of the courses require you to bring in "an object that can be used in the classroom to inspire a teaching session" as well as to "present a poem as if you were presenting it to children" and "bring a book to read and discuss with a group of children" and I am really not sure about any of these things. If you could assist me what to bring and why it would be useful I'd be very grateful.

Hey my firm offer to study Primary Education is QTS is Newman university and insurance is Derby university

So you could bring something simple like a whiteboard, and you can see the progress of a child, or you can test them by telling them a question and they have to write down what they know. Also a whiteboard can be used for many different subjects, and give examples. Also say it is useful for children in all years in different ways.

Hi! I've got a unconditional offer to study Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church, it would be nice to meet others doing a similar course or even the same course at the same uni!
Has anyone applied to study Education studies at Southampton university ?
Hi everyone!
I've just finished my first year at Edge Hill University. I originally applied to do a Primary Teaching course, but decided I'd prefer to do a broader degree, so transferred to Psychology instead. I bought a book when I started the QTS course, however, that is an absolute necessity for a Primary Teaching degree (THE PRIMARY ENGLISH ENCYCLOPEDIA: 4TH ED). I paid £40 but I'm selling it on eBay for £25 (will accept lower offers too) with free P+P.
Good luck to you all during the exam period and with your university journey
