I'll be moving in to Manchester from Hull. Where are you coming from?
I think the staff at Manchester Met seemed great. My only concern is I'm not sure what travelling to the placement schools is going to be like.
I know it can be up to an hour and a half's travel each way so could be interesting on public transport.

I'm moving from Bakewell in the Peak District  my brother is currently doing the music with specialist instrumental teaching at mmu and tbh with placements they have really been quite helpful with finding him placements that are only about half an hour away from where he lives. I think they seem to be quite flexible depending on your circumstances so I wouldn't worry too much about placements, and the buses are absolutely fab in Manchester! X

Yeahhh I don't love too far so may drive in or get the train depending on how I feel haha, what time you looking at getting there for?

I'd get the train if I were you - my interview was in the afternoon and found it quite hard to park!!

When interviewers ask you about a current educational topic, is there a back and forth discussion with them, or do you just kind of do a mini-speech?
Hi I have accepted an offer from edge hill for early years to start in sept! Just wondering who else Will be starting as I haven't seemed to find anyone yet! 😃

Depends where the interview is for. When I said mine he started talking about it for a bit then I said more and we had a little discussion over it and I mentioned how I would change the way I do things to combat the issue

Yeah, I was just asking to see what people had experienced. Thanks for answering  I hope it's a discussion, I hate in interviews when they just expect you to give a really long answer. Even when I have the knowledge and I'm passionate about what I'm talking about, I worry they're not interested haha.

I'm applying for a Primary PGCE with MFL and I've found an amazing curriculum for language teaching that really interests me. I'm not sure if they'd prefer me to talk about a more general aspect of the curriculum (like phonics etc) though. Also, one of the unis I applied to was heavily involved in the analysis of this curriculum, so I'm worried it looks like I'm sucking up!

Don't worry about sucking up haha I used one of the example issues in the interview prep book provided by the Uni I was applying for and talked about how they have now taken steps to incorporate the training into their course. Personally I think it'd be good to do what you're doing because it shows that you've done your research and are interested in the research the university are carrying out and shows them that you've looked further into why you want to go there as opposed to somewhere else to train. Good luck!!

How long did you have to wait after you had informed uni about passing your skills test from them to change it on UCAS?

That's sounds great. I've been looking into accommodation at Manchester and one of the halls gives you a free bus pass. Are you still deciding?

Has anyone accepted Durham for PGCE? I have offers from both Sunderland and Durham and swaying largely to Durham.. Right decision?

Hi, I have accepted my offer for Durham and will be doing a Geography PGCE.

Have you managed to pick between your two offers? and what subject will you be doing?

I've chosen Worcester. Mmu used to offer English with sen which I was really interested in but as they have stopped it they can't guarantee sen experience that Worcester can. I decided it really comes down to that aspect for my final decision and I'm very happy with my choice now, even though it was very difficult and there wasn't really much in it! X

I told mine that I'd passed mine and they said 'oh you don't need to tell us, we check the skills test database frequently and amend our database but your UCAS won't change until you meet all the entry requirements'

Secondary languages!
Can anyone tell me what is meant by "Satisfactory completion of the teachers agency's pre entry" it's the only thing on my UCAS I don't understand. As I have passed the skills test. I'm keen for it to changed from conditional to unconditional so I can start telling people and planning for September
