Have you got your accomodation yet?

Hiya animators! I'll be starting out in 3D Animation in September, but one of the reasons I picked this course was because you can wait to the second year to specialise properly. My background is in stop-motion, which doesn't translate too easily to any of the disciplines. :P

Anyone got any previous work they want to show off?

Hey there! I have a blog here.

I think knowledge learned from stop motion will translate very well! What did you do before then?

You got a blog?

Nothing, I started stop-motion when I was 12 and have been doing it ever since. It's really taken me places though, I love making films.

No blog, but here's my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/Zoot101
This is the video I showed in my interview and it got me my place.

link for the above

(btw just a suggestion but UHanimation 14/15 is a much shorter and easier name? or Herts Animation or Herts 2D/3D/VFX/GA 14/15.. but then again i'm just a fan of short catchy names )

I probably should make storyboards, but because it's just me working on each film and I've got a pretty good feel for how to pace it etc. after doing it for so long, I just make it up as I go along. It's a bit lazy, but I just want to get to the animating part as fast as possible.

It's great fun and I totally recommend it, maybe I'll be able to show you all how it's done in a few months' time.

well I think it's less likely to come up on google or whatever if someone randomly searches for it. They'l probably type animation + game art out in full.

I've done loads of 2D with Flash before, but 3D is like a whole new world that I've never explored before! To be honest I'll just do whatever one I'm least terrible at :P

I got my first choice too! Bellingham Court, Flat 3, Room 5. So excited

Since everyone is being brave and sharing, here's the showreel I used at my interview! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ouewre26en4&list=UU6X7d0wlU6zrPAE9gqhmoFw

I'm starting Stop Motion Animation in September. I'm a mature student (old enough to be your mother probably!). I've not done any animation before, I draw and sculpt and make loads of different craft things. I'm up to my ears in the 'summer activities' stuff they've set, anyone else screaming and running out of time? :O!!!

As we're sharing... I have a whole bunch of stuff on deviant art. I try everything and not long enough to get good at anything!

Love the links, you've all done some really good stuff! what software are you using?

M
I'm starting 3D Animation this September also and I'm going to stay at Coales Halls
