Low Resting Heart Rate

My resting heart rate is low, around 50 BPM, yet I am definitely not fit. I have a very sedentary life style, and I am just in overweight category based on BMI. (BMI of 26).

Is it abnormal to have such a low heart rate given I am not at all fit? Should I get this checked out?
Meh, I have seen Athletes with lower heart rates.

How did you measure it?

Of course athletes can have lower heart rates, but the point is I am far from an athlete and most people I know who are fitter than me have heart rates in the range from 60 - 100.

I measured it using the radial pulse, timing for 1 full minute.
