Durham to London

Hello,

I shall be starting a PhD at Durham next year, but I will be needing to go to London (towards Imperial College) quite frequently (once every other week if possible, or otherwise once a month). How do people usually do the journey? One option I've considered is the X2 from Durham to Newcastle (1h) followed by the Megabus from Newcastle to London (7h). Ideally, I'd like to know of an option that takes less than 8h. :tongue:

I'd appreciate any input anyone may have.

We usually get the train- the mainline runs from Durham to London Kings Cross and takes around 2.5 hours. If you book it far enough in advance it's normally pretty cheap too.
