help from Spain

Hey there!
I am a spanish student thinking of going to a college in Manchester (if you could recommend one I would be very grateful), in order to apply for University in Manchester. Here in spain things are not good, but do you think its better to study in england to get a place un mechanical engeneering? And is the A levels the correct way? Wich subjects would get a higher punctuation? I suppose maths, physics... Or do you believe it is better to do IB?
Many many thanks!

Hi Pat16!

It might be worthwhile looking into a British university for your degree because it will make your qualification stand out and help you get jobs.

If I were to recommend a University by reputation, I would say University of Manchester is the best but it also has a very high standard for accepting people. In Manchester, there is also the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and very close by is the University of Salford (which is very very close to Manchester). Salford Uni has a better reputation than MMU.

Here are the entry requirements for mechanical engineering at all three universities, as you can see maths and physics are required!:

University of Manchester:

Manchester Metropolitan University:
http://www2.mmu.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/2013/9923/#entryreq

University of Salford:

I am not sure if it matters whether you do A levels or IB, to be honest I don't think they mind as long as you get the requirements. You may want to email the university to check because they might have a preference!

Hope this helps and good luck with your decision

Why only Manchester?

Anyway is it not easier if you complete the qualifications in spain ( I am sure your qualifications from Spain can be accepted in the UK, assuming you get good grades and so on)
It's worth mentioning that there's a foundation year course at the university of Manchester if you don't quite have the grades/qualifications:

There may also be similar courses at Manchester Metropolitan and Salford.

Hi guys!! I have been accepted in Holy cross to start this september, but Loreto also wanted to interview me at the end of June.
I think I must reject this interview by saying something polite, could you help me?? I think is not fair to maintain both colleges just to the end, because you are holding up the access to other students.

Has anyone suffer the same trouble one day in the past??

thank you
