Applying for dentistry

Hey,
I'll be starting college this year doing Chemistry, biology, maths and history. I really want to do a dentistry degree and I can't think of any other degree I would be interested in taking. So...... what do I need to do now??

Any advice on what I need to do in the next two years to help me get in (other than getting good grades) would be appreciated.

Also how competitive is the course??

Work experience, volunteering UKCAT exam
Most competitive degree in the country alongside vet med and medicine.

thanks. about work experience- how long do they expect it to be?? And what setting should it be (hospital, private ect...).
