mountaineering society

would be interested to know what the mountaineering society is like, how active is it, and what sort of level do they organize trips, are we talking casual summer strolls in the valleys, or do they like to make it abit of a challenge.

There is a very active Hiking Club that does all sorts of walks which test all skill levels. Check out their website: http://aberhiking.weebly.com/

I ran the mountaineering club in 2010. It was, and I believe still is, almost entirely rock climbing based with regular bouldering club sessions in the uni sports centre, and trips the North Wales, South Wales, the peaks etc. Caters for all abilities mind!
