MA Translation - Diagnostic Essay - Referencing System?

Hello Guys!
I am new here, nice to meet you :-))
I am applying for the MA Translation at Bristol, and have just made a HUGE research on the right referencing system required to write the diagnostic essay.
As you might know, international students must submit such paper, despite the good marks at the English test....
So, as for what I found out, a Translation Essays should be some sort of Linguistic Essay (I guess!), so the Linguistics referencing applies, that is Name-Date System, but with references in footnotes. In particular:

- First and Subsequent References: Harvey 1963: 140
- Bibliography: Harvey 1963: L.P. Harvey, ‘The Metrical Irregularity of the Cantar de Mio Cid’, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, XL (1963), 137-43
