Art A Level without Art GCSE

Can you do art a-level without doing the gcse? Also would it be difficult if you did so?

I imagine it's a subject where it's possible because it doesn't necessarily require previous study. I think understanding some aspects of how to do the projects etc. will be new but the core elements are fundamentally based on your skills. Speak to your college/sixth form as it's ultimately going to be their choice, but they will probably want you to take a portfolio in to prove you can actually draw/paint/craft.

It's a time-consuming subject, so keep that in mind with relation to how quick you work. Difficulty is somewhat subjective depending on your inclination towards certain tasks, but it's not going to be a complete walk in the park.

If you've done a DT subject e.g. Graphics/textiles I'm pretty sure you can transfer to A level art.
