Ways in which men are oppressed in the UK.

Lets start with child custody:

Men are tremendously discriminated against in family courts. Women win 93% of child custody battles, and despite having hardly any visiting rights, are also forced to pay punitive costs to support the children they are not allowed to see -- payments which, a lot of the time at least, will be squandered on the mothers latest hair do or girls holiday away to Magaluf.

Ways in which men are oppressed in the uk:
----------------------------------------------------
( will edit list when new suggestions come in )

1: Child custody heavily biased in favour of women.

2: No support for male victims of domestic violence.

3: Discrimination in prison system, with men more likely to be jailed and serve longer sentences.

4: 84% of all homeless people are men.

5: Men more likely to commit suicide than women.

6: 96% of work related fatalities are men.

7: Being told to 'man up' and not complain when they dare to speak up about anti-male discrimination.

8: Men have no anonymity if they are accused of rape, and so false rape allegations routinely ruin mens lives and careers.

9: Divorce settlements are heavily discriminatory against men. Men are routinely ordered to hand over huge sums of their personal wealth, even to blatant gold diggers. ( see the Paul Mcarthy/Heather Mills settlement )

10: Men are seen as expendable by society; during the First World War, for example, feminists tried to shame men into joining the army by calling them cowards. Google the 'white feather movement'

11: Education system is female centric; focusing on teaching methods which cater to female strengths.

12: Young boys natural boisterous behaviour is considered a mental disorder, called ADHD. Boys are drugged for not acting like girls.

13: Men are told they are losers and sexually deficient if they dare speak up against the oppression which effects them.

In Britain men are not oppressed and neither are women for that matter

Lets start with child custody. Men are definitely discriminated against when it comes to child custody. Not only are they much more likely to lose a custody battle, but they are also forced to pay punitive child care costs. Despite having hardly any visiting rights to the children their are forced to pay for.

Yawn.
Regarding custody though, is it actually about discrimination or people accepting gender roles? Even in today's world it's often more mothers looking after children or giving up careers for children, so then of course these women will get custody.
The severe lack of shelter for men who are victims of domestic abuse. There are thousands for women, but only a handful for men. Men are just as likely to be a victim of domestic abuse as women, yet they receive little to no support. There 33 shelters for me, of which 18 are gay only. However there are around 4,000 for women.

Prison sentencing is considerably higher for men with 29% of first time offenders being put in prison compared to women which is 17%. Men also have a 62% chance of being bailed whereas women have an 80% chance. Men on average serve 53% of their sentence whereas women only serve 5%.

Men are more likely to be killed or injured at work. With 96% of work related fatalities being men. Men are also more likely to be made redundant that females.

Men are more likely to be made homeless. It is estimated that 84% of the homeless in the UK are men.

Men are also more likely to commit suicide.

And what has feminism done to improve these inequalities?

Tell us it "has" to be discussed under the banner of feminism and men talking between themselves is sexist....

Apart from that nothing really....

Oh and claiming it's not as important as issues women face....

Cue the feminazi's.....
Women win 93% of child custody battles

Can you please provide a source for this? I suspect this figure is percentage of children living with their mother rather than their father when their parents have separated, rather than just those that went through court.
No-one is oppressed. It's the UK not China.

I'm inclined to agree with this.
The friend zone. :ahee:
Stand up for you rights! Don't give up the fight!

where the did you get that "84% of homeless people are men" statistic from? women involved in fights with no life threatening harm are given longer sentences than men who have murdered people.

If women fail in education/careers, they can fall back on a rich guy more easily and do little for the rest of their life. They don't even have to look good.

These are not forms of oppression.

Then technically feminist's cannot complain about being oppressed....

Elaborate...

One way women like to claim they were oppressed was by being forced into the kitchen and caring roles....

No different to men being forced to "man up" and the past expectation to fight and die for their country in previous generations.

Feminist's like to claim the have been oppressed due to the job market, fewer rights, lack of civil support in the past, rape culture, reduced economic power, lower education and reduced life chances.

Homelessness reduces life chances to an extreme and completely take civil support away (seeing you need an address) and usually it's due to break up or being kicked out of the home where men are seen as more capable as women and are less likely to receive support. Loss of life is the ultimate tragedy and it's suggested that the higher suicide rate is due to the whole "man up" expectation.
at this moment i feel euphoric
