just got my a level results, doing politics at queen mary. any have any ideas what i should do to get into a job in finance. NOT investment banking, just finance. any ideas would be appreciated? also any ideas on how to maximise my time at university?

Hello, congrats that's a great degree. I'm applying for Politics at QMUL 2011.
I think you should get some work experience, that always looks great. Take advantage of going university in the city and do a lot of networking to increase your contacts.
Also, try and do a masters in a finance or economic based discipline. That would put you on the map for sure.
So what finance sector are you look at? By the way why not IB? Looking to work in the city?

Stupid post - Finance is ridiculously broad, you might aswell say "any ideas what I can do to get a job after uni?".
