Thanks for linking that - a very interesting read, as I brace myself for potentially starting a PhD soon! I'd previously worried that perhaps my topic is too focused in on one thing but actually having read this now, I think the scope of my proposed thesis might be too wide :sigh:

(now going to go through my Master's dissertation, due to be submitted in less than 24 hours, and check all mentions of 'discourse' and Foucault…..)

Very useful, thank you. I'm starting a PhD in September. Great to be made aware of some of the possible pitfalls to come!
