Clearing in South Wales Uni

So I'm planning on applying for Media production in clearing at the university of South Wales. As a result of family problems I have to stay close to home so Cardiff would be perfect for me. Results day is in a few weeks but because I know what courses I'm going to look for at South Wales uni, is there anything I can do before hand?? I'm going to pick a few courses to try and guarantee going to South Wales university. But is there anything I can do to enhance my chances of going there?
