Is this normal?

It's probably better if I list the reasons why I think I'm not normal. Then you can comment on each point.

1. I don't like going out drinking as much as I used to especially with old friends I don't see as much. I prefer doing an activity such as play pool football or go shopping. I suppose I'm not just conforming to society and going clubbing whenever I can like any other 20 something maybe I've just matured but seems like I'm the only one at my age to do so.

2. I find it extremely hard to date any girl. I've only attempted to meet girls online and when we get close to dating I get scared and stop talking to them. I do have one opportunity at the moment with a girl I've been talking to over Facebook that's a family friend of my dad (he no longer lives with me) I told her she should come and meet me there sometime. She seems pretty keen as well even says hi first and tells me when she's horny (what does that mean btw is this just to tease me?) but I am extremely nervous once again but I hope to force myself to do it and give her a date that I'll be there and go through with it.

3. I'm not much of a conversationalist to the point I don't make any new friends even when I joined a club in football and I'm not a bad player but I would be too shy to go to the pub to meet them by myself. I just generally get scared of trying new social scenes with different people and situations.

4. It's taken me 7 interviews and I haven't got a job yet. Could this be because of a gap I have in my cv or could this be for a lack of confidence? Either way will this likely continue every time I want a job?

thank you anyone who can address each issue. I believe I have some sort of social anxiety as in groups I am extremely quiet such as in point 2 I'm worried my dad will be making the girl laugh and do all the talking while we just both talk to him and not eachother

It's normal. Not everyone is a social butterfly, and that certainly doesn't make you weird. I can relate to points 1 and 2. I have no interest in going out and drinking with my friends here any more. People change. And I have been on 1 date in the last 5 years and haven't really spoken to the guy since. Dating scares me. Trust issues are to blame there for me, I think.

As for the jobs, speaking as a recruiter, I can tell you an unexplained gap in a CV is off-putting. But a lack of confidence even more so. I recommend practising your interview technique with a friend or family member to help you improve and build your confidence.

It's not necessarily social anxiety, just perhaps a lack of confidence. Try meeting people through activities you enjoy by joining clubs or groups, or, if you are out of work, why don't you find some volunteer work? This will also look good on your CV.
That makes you weird, but various other things make everyone else weird, too, so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks. It just annoys me as I'm not nervous about getting into a relationship more about going out for first time together. I know one boy that has less confidence than me and he has a gf on Facebook although I haven't seen him in about 5 years so maybe he might be different now but I doubt it. I'm joining college soon so hopefully that will improve social side of the things and improve my chance of getting another job

It is very normal and there isn't anything to get too bogged down about.

You are leaving your house, you can interact with others as you have your activities you enjoy doing.

I think it is a lack of confidence more so than social anxiety but you could try seeing a counsellor if you like.

Try staying on a positive past and not to get too fixated on the negatives (rich coming from me) but if you manage to do this it'll make you are more happier person. Socialising with people who have similar interests, speak to people at your activities? A simple comment can spark a friendship! Happy a smile on your face - look alive.

You're only 20, still very young. Best of luck pal

Number 2 is bothering me the most as I like the look of this girl but surprised I haven't ****ed it up already. She's only 18 and I'm 25 but I like the look of her and enjoy talking to her. But the fact I'm sure she won't like me in person makes me think there's no point in meeting up and that goes with any girl. I just feel paralysed to go out and see the girl I'm talking to

Well I done it and managed to go on first date in 5 years. It went ok and she wants me to take her out for meal on Sunday which is pretty nerve racking as I never done this before with girl. Has anyone got a lot of things we can talk about? I've asked about siblings friends holidays future career and other things just wondering what else I could ask to have the conversation flowing? A list format might benefit me the most
