Decent laptop for A level & University

I've had an ASUS laptop for over 6 years now, however, it's beyond repair now and I think it's time to invest in a new laptop.

-I need a laptop that's preferably cheap but sturdy (weight is not an issue- not too heavy though).
-Something that doesn't overheat- I know my laptop had this cooling system thing? I have no clue what it's called!
-Something that's suitable for editing videos/photoshop etc. as I'm going to be using it to pursue editing and such.
-Good storage for documents/photos and for playing Sims :colondollar:
- Great for general web browsing

Everything an A level/uni student would need basically. I have no intention of doing like a graphic/comp sci degree that would require a specialist laptop so any recommendations are welcome.

Also, do they sell windows 7 anymore? I absolutely detest windows 8. :frown:

Thanks!

I've still got 2 more years to go! I'm hoping it'll last me through uni. My budget is roughly around 2-500 ish but the cheaper the better

Hobby and just doing general projects for school (not subject related).
I think this might work: Here

Finding a laptop with Windows 7, is difficult since most laptops now have Windows 8 pre-installed.

Regards to Sims 3, it'll more than likely run it, however Windows 8 isn't officially supported given that Sims 3 was released prior to Windows 8

Someone might be able to give alternative/better suggestions.

EDIT: On the page they also give you the option to upgrade it..

Ahh that makes sense! Sims isn't so vital, but thank you so much! This is really useful
