Netflix at uni... Is it worth it?

I'm the sort of person who watches a lot of TV shows, especially American shows that don't come on straight away in the UK. Do you think it's worth it to get a Netflix account especially in the first year? I won't be paying for a TV license so hopefully it'll be watching shows from my laptop. Does anyone have one right now, please give feedback on your experience with it.

I've been told it's easy to get hooked on it, hmm. Is the standard price £7.99 for everyone or are there student deals?

Mine is £5.99 but agree, totally worth it. Plus, you can have up to four users on it I think so your family can use it at home on the TV.

No student deals.

I think it's 6.99 for new subscribers.
*Ok. Waste £7 a month. The simple truth is that those sites exist to act as an alternative to getting ripped off by the likes of Netflix. £7 doesn't sound like too much but after a year it's £84. Common sense prevails.*

Get it defs!! it's amazing! if you download 'hola unblocker' you can get full access to the american netflix which is so much better and has a much wider variety, with loads of american shows not out in the UK yet!

I'm not a fan of Netflix. There are too many awful films/tv shows that no one would ever watch. Maybe 10 things a month that are worthwhile. But considering you can use sites like *Illegal site* for free and watch whatever you want as soon as it's released, Netflix just isn't worth it.

The difference is that using sites like that is breaking the law and Netflix isn't.

OP don't listen to this guy, there are loads of great films and TV shows on Netflix. Even once you finish watching all the great stuff on UK Netflix (which will take a while) you can simply change your DNS settings to watch American Netflix which has loads of TV shows and films that the UK doesn't.

I think Netflix is worth it simply for their exclusive and original shows like House of Cards, Lilyhammer, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development etc.

Netflix is always a season behind though isn't it, for current TV shows?
Definitely not. University will give you more options for trying exciting new activities and socialising. Ignoring all this and sitting in your room watching junk tv would be a truly pathetic waste of time.
You can play the netflix game of course:

1) think of a film you want to watch.
2) check if netflix has it. It doesn't.
3) repeat steps 1 and 2 until bored, angry and exhausted.

You don't have to be an agoraphobe to enjoy a netflix subscription .

OP, you can get a one month free trial when you join, so that should help you to decide whether or not it's worth it.
If I was going to uni I would get this kind of sub! I trawled up to Birmingham with boxsets and DVDs.... having it all online would have been soooo much easier!

I think it's very important to have "treat" time at uni. Some of my favourite times were simply cooking a comforting meal with a few mates, slobbing out in our uni trackies and hoodies and watching girlie movies....
Netflix is pretty good , but hard to find decent shows. I prefer other methods , which have a larger collection of films and TV shows.

I can pm you a website , which is just awesome.

I got a deal with vodafone that gives me free spotify premium netflix or something else, so I chose spotify premium (as that's the most expensive) so the cost of netflix is really nothing
