Westerlies!

Air flows from high pressure to low pressure right? Okay, so my confusion begins here. Shouldn't the westerlies flow towards the Equator from about 30 degrees N and S, instead of flowing towards the poles? At 30 degrees, the temperature is definitely higher than that at 60 degrees, and because of that, its pressure should be lower than at 60 degrees.

Question: Why Westerlies flow to the poles? Man, the pressure is really getting on to me !
