Clinique skincare

I've been searching for a decent set of skincare for ages, and I'm finally deciding to splurge a little after a particularly bad Garnier breakout. I'm looking at Clinique, has anyone with sensitive/blemish prone skin had any experience with them? Or any other recommendations would be great

I think Clinique is pretty overrated. Both skincare and make up -wise, I've never understood why it gets such a great rep. I had terrible skin though so maybe that's just me.

I tried the 3 step system thing, both in the ordinary and anti-blemish and found that they are both ultimately very, very drying and it literally strips your face of everything. The facewash contains sodium laureth sulphate (very drying) and the toner contains alcohol denat (which is in most deodorants). The moisturiser is greasy in an attempt to balance out these two drying components.

I've spent a fortune on skincare over the years... my favourites are now always the more 'basic' products, like Burt's Bees or Simple.
