Nope, awful awful excuse. I wouldn't say that cheating is never excusable, but he doesn't even sound apologetic. If he isn't sorry, you shouldn't forgive him.

Ha, no. If he wanted to "live his last days of uni" by sleeping around, he shouldn't have been in a relationship in the first place

Perhaps you've quoted it out of context, but doesn't seem like the best of excuses. I suppose it might get a mark for honesty, but it doesn't portray a lot of concern for your feelings. I would tend to knock it on the head, unless you're deeply smitten and foolish enough to give him another chance..
