OCR A Level Physics A

So I was looking on Amazon trying to find the correct textbook for AS physics, and I found this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Physics-Student-Book-CD-ROM-Level/dp/0435691821/
Just wondering why this has such bad reviews. Its very odd since there are almost as many 1 star reviews as there are 5 star reviews.

I used that book and I quite liked it.

I also recommend: http://www.amazon.co.uk/AS-Level-Physics-Complete-Revision-Practice/dp/1847621287/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1406977825&sr=1-1&keywords=as+physics+revision.

I got an A for my A2 physics, so I'm not sure why people say using this book gives you a U.

You can look inside the book on amazon if you click on the picture, and you can see if you like the look of it.
I liked the OPs book - obviously you can't just use it alone - like any a level book - which is possibly why the bad reviews. I got 90% UMS at AS
I don't like CGP guides (above) but I think that's just personal preference

I found the offical book and the CGP book both useful sources of information.
One may explain a topic poorly but the other does it quite well, i recommend using both.
I did this for AS and achieved an A (i was far behind in physics as i didnt do the full GCSE so the books helped)

I also found them very good for A2, but everyone is different. Just use the books and the mark schemes as your main sources of knowledge.

This is really useful, thanks for all the help! I think I will use both then.
