Revision before starting medicine after gap year?

Hey

Starting medicine at Manchester in sept

Been on a gap year so havnt studied in a year, still remember a lot of the basics of a levels I did but not much beyond that.

I don't want to be spending my time catching up on knowledge that I have forgotten due to gap year, want to spend most of it socialising and partying.

For this reason, do you think revising biology a level a bit before starting during the summer would be wise or used or is there no need?

Because right now I'm chilling, working a small part time, free most days. Would rather be having lots of fun during the first term of uni.

Cheers

Just go over the biochemistry/cell biology and physiology bits. No need to bother with plants and ecology! And I do just mean go over - read through your old books and notes, there's no need to make new ones.

I'd say there's really no need - you'll catch up at medical school incredibly quickly, but if you are going to do anything, just revise the very basics of some stuff (cell biology, acid-base), no more than a few hours worth. Enjoy your summer, mate, take up a hobby!
