Have a look at this http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/israelgaza-conflict-ban-kimoon-declares-israeli-attack-on-un-school-a-criminal-act-9645278.html

EDIT: People should open their eyes and stop supporting Israelis. They are clearly the terrorists in this war. They have decided to rip Gaza apart.

Oh no, the NUS. I'm sure Israel will be quaking in their boots. The UN and the US government may be unable to stop the Israelis, but the might of the NUS will suffice.

And why are the NUS not boycotting China, Iraq and Syria? And I don't recall any uproar when thousands and thousands of civilians were killed in the Sri Lankan civil war. Selective righteousness.
The sob stories have started. Trying to twist this into an attack against Jews which it most definitely is not.

I'm sure Israel will be devastated...
:congrats: Good!

Even if its 'just' the NUS, at least they are speaking out by boycotting Israel for committing genocide. We need more people who will stand up and speak, even if they are not 'important'. Especially when the important people find genocide to be permissible, apparently. Much better than USA, UN, Saudi & UK who are deaf, dumb and blind to Israel's war crimes..

On the contrary I must congratulate Israel on its genocidal methods. Calling off/not killing anyone in most of their strikes, supporting every ceasefire, allowing aid through. And only 1500 killed in a few months.

I commend Israel on their efficiency.
Oh yeah, load of people listen to NUS. What a bunch of ****wits. It is pretty typical that the NUS don't support self defense. I'm so glad my University can't join NUS, they are a bunch a whiny little pricks who don't even represent students.

Hamas are the real problem here.

Can anyone who backs boycotts of Israel explain the logic behind it?

'Cos as far as I can see the people who want to boycott Israel are the same people who say that it is genocidal and evil and that the only thing stopping it killing every Palestinian is the potential world outrage. In that case, making every country hate Israel would just give it free reign to carry out what you say is its plans.
it says there will be a NUS vote. if so, Israel i assume then banned from attending all Freshers Balls ?

whereas Hamas, designated a terrorist group by USA, UK and the EU, they have no issue with?

Israel boycott?

Did those morons at the NUS decide to wake up in the 1980s or something?

I actually thought they already had a boycott in place.

And isn't the NUS dominated by the SWP et al who have yet to reconcile themselves with the collapse of the Soviet Union?

They've probably had every kind of 1970-80s loony left policy still in place and haven't ever changed it. It wouldn't surprise me if they're still boycotting South Africa because they've forgotten who they have and haven't lifted their major league embargoes on.

It's just pathetic, really.
It's not Israel's fault they're located near terrorists.

If by terrorists you mean Hamas, then yes it is Israel's fault they are located there. They could have chosen Uganda, Argentina etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposals_for_a_Jewish_state

Are there any student unions that buy products made by Hamas? If not, how are they supposed to boycott them?

They haven't represented my views at all.
