Has anyone ever achieved 6 A grades at Advanced Higher in one sitting?

I'm crashing Human Bio and doing AH Maths.

Teaching myself Unit 1 Human Bio took so much longer than self-teaching Unit 1 AH Maths.

But did you self teach unit 1 AH maths well? Length of time is irrelevant

Yes?

Did ye aye?

Solve the following:

A circular drumskin has a supporting rim p=a. If the rim is twisted so that it is displaced vertically by a small amount ε(sinΦ+2sin2Φ), where Φ is the azimuthal angle with respect to the given radius, find the displacement u(p,Φ) over the entire drumskin.

Simple trig

I'm in a pretty good position to make the comparison that I did.

Sorry, how many A's did you get at Higher again?

About self-teaching Higher maths in 8 days to A standard.

Higher chemistry in 5 days.

Physics TBC.

AH triplet this year, I think. My only regret is not applying to oxbridge this year.

Talk is cheap. You dont have Higher A passes therefore it makes your post to langlitz unbelievably stupid.

Even if you dont get the *inevitable* reality check, your decision to attempt those subjects is incredibly stupid because

A) you'll have nothing left to do in your 6th year - Oxbridge strongly dislike maths/science applicants that have taken a year away from the subjects (effectively what you'll be doing)

B) focussing on Highers and getting 5A1s then going on to do ace Advanced highers in 6th year would give you a better academic score than, say, AAABB this year.

C) if you **** it up theres pretty much nothing you can do. Aiming for 5As at higher this year (if you got it) would provide you with a safety net.

I know you won't listen to this advice anyway, but heyho.

Because they would have accepted your application with only national 5s...

But I can solve this

A circular drumskin has a supporting rim p=a. If the rim is twisted so that it is displaced vertically by a small amount ε(sinΦ+2sin2Φ), where Φ is the azimuthal angle with respect to the given radius, find the displacement u(p,Φ) over the entire drumskin.

So why wouldn't they let me in?

A) 6th year? AH Stats, Mechanics, Bio..

B) A or A1 is not significant. I enjoy AH so I do put work into it. I'll have higher percentages for AH than Higher.

C) I work this year. I'm not '****ing up'.

Yeah, good point, but couldn't they give a ridiculous condition? My extracurriculars have been balls until this year as well though.
So what are you doing this year- 7 highers and 3 advanced highers?

Bear in mind that if you want to do AH chem/phys yourself, you'll need to carry out investigations and practical course work somewhere. It's more than just regurgitating the course content.

Everyone else has given you good advice, take it on board.

Can't do both mechanics and stats in one year

Guys, please, it's As and not A's.

It is if you are applying in England, particularly your AH bandings.

It's very significant for Cambridge and your chances at Oxford are questionable since you only have 7 grades where's you're against people with like 12 A*s at GSCE

Self-teaching AH Chem at home and 6 periods a week in school, so I have time for the investigation.

In the AH Maths class.

In the AH Physics class.

6 highers, 3 AH.

Shut up.

Don't worry, AH bandings will be as good as they get.

Actually, yes you can. In the new Advanced Highers they're two separate courses, 'Advanced Higher Applied Maths' and 'Mathematics of Mechanics'.
