Revision wise.....

They say that if you understand your subject it is easier to pass the exam.
I understand my subjects but then I find that other than understanding, you need to memorize it as well. I have rather bad memory skills.
Is there any other way of memorizing the things in bio and chem other than plain good ol' memorizing from paper?
Variety of suggestions will help a lot.

Any chance you could stop posting random threads in a section meant for questions about applying to university?
Moved to the right forum. Please post in the correct place.
sorry guys. I didn't looked at the post info properly. Didn't mean it.
i think understanding the material is the most important thing. and if you want to memorise the content then i would just keep revisiting it every now and then.
however if you want to memorise like a definition or something, webistes like http://quizlet.com and http://www.memrise.com/home/ is the best (at least it works for me) . you can either search for it or alternatively make your own sets to learn.

Thanks a lot! I'll give it a shot.
Making sure that you have a good understanding is essential, then from there it's about finding a revision technique that suits you. Personally I just sat down and wrote something down on paper until I knew it from memory. Some of my friends would blitz through flashcards to learn definitions etc, others would actually say what they were trying to remember because it said it helped them.
One of my teachers told me about a girl she knew who bought a load of different perfumes and smelt certain ones for each of her subjects. Then when she sat her exam, she'd spray the perfume on her wrist or something and give it a sniff if she was struggling to remember things. I know it sounds weird but it may work for you haha

There are many ways of memorising and they do not need to be on paper. You can be an auditory learner (watch videos, get someone to tell you the stuff you need to learn, read your revision notes aloud, get someone to ask you questions, listen to recordings of revision) a visual learner (flashcards, mindmaps, pictures) or you may be able to learn stuff by doing things, writing stuff out again and again...

I think you also should have a look at this:
