Medway Campus

Hi Guys,

Starting here in September.

Just wanted some info about anyones experiences studying here, not the courses them selves but more the nightlife on Campus, services and societies. Is it served as well as the main Kent campus?

Thanks in advance

Hey, just giving this a little bump in the hopes someone will see it and reply!

Have you found Connect yet? It's really useful for finding other people on your course/University!

Hello - Unfortunately I can't tell you much about Medway as I'm based in Canterbury, but you can contact the Medway Student Committee - https://www.facebook.com/MedwayStudentCommittee and if there's no reply from them there is a Medway Freshers Group 2014/15 - https://www.facebook.com/groups/903378643012785, though I'm hesitant in giving you that link as it's run by a for profit company . At least you can talk to other applicants though! (To my knowledge there isn't a student run group yet)

However, should you want to visit the Canterbury campus there are hourly shuttle buses (which are free!) that you can use. http://www.kent.ac.uk/campus-shuttle/

Hey I'm a second year student on Medway campus  although we don't have the same amenities as the main campus, I've found it's a lot friendly and everything is close to hand. Our halls although expensive are modern with good facilities and you get to know literally everyone that's a first year student there  I didn't actually join any society's my first year, hope to rectify that this year but there's a wide variety and the sports club is usually where the fun is at especially the rugby club.

As for the night life, Monday night is tap n tin, Wednesday is bliss and Tuesday/Thursday is casinos, although their quite bad in terms of placement and design after a couple games of ring if fire at pre drinks you no longer care. The SOS usually run fun themed nights as well. At the weekend there is busses to clubs in Maidstone with the occasionally trip during and at the weeken to clubs in Camden and London.

The Medway activities also run days out during the year to Thorpe park etc. and kent also has free gym at Medway park on a Wednesday

Don't know if this helps at all , but if you need any more info feel free to message me

Hey although that wasn't directed to me I found that helpful to get to know Medway haha  I was wondering, as I will be studying at Canterbury Christ Church in Medway, have you mixed much with Greenwich/Canterbury students as you share a campus?
I know that Liberty Quays hall is for Kent uni and Canterbury too.
Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply but yeah we so tend to mix with all the different uni students as all the student events are for all unis so you do get to meet everyone and also with the shared accommodations as well
