How far do you normally sit from your laptop screen/monitor when sat at a desk (relative to screen size to account for different screen sizes)?

1.5 times, I have a 22 inch monitor.

About an arm's length.

To be honest with my desk in work I don't get much choice because of everything else that is fixed into place.

1-2, depending on what I'm doing. If I'm watching a show I'll be further away than if i'm browsing/working. 1.25~ currently as I write this. (27" monitors)
Just slightly more than 1.
By the way, the average human arm is about 25 inches, it would only be 2.5-3 times if you are using 8-10" screens.

Arm's length is awfully far for a 8-10" screen... That's basically using a tablet with arm fully extended.
