Pretty confused about university.

Hey

Im pretty confused on how you are looked at and given a place at uni, im only 16 and starting my first year in sixth form. Ive seen many threads saying you need certain UCAS points, but I was wondering do they look at your points in total or your results from your a levels?

It depends on the university. The better ones generally give offers involving specific A-Level grades - for example, ABB. The lower down universities might give an offer instead based on UCAS points which can be gained in various ways, but again mainly through achievement at A-Level.
as above. You'll see things like 320 points with .... from A levels. Also better universities will not count all A levels, General Studies is commonly excluded.

You might find it useful to read this http://www.russellgroup.org/InformedChoices-latest.pdf and to begin to think about what you might like to study and where. Universities have open days and attending the one nearest to you might be helpful.
