Clearing- What do I do about accommodation?!

I acquired a place at QMUL through clearing (though QM are taking their time to officially confirm my place on UCAS). I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what my next move should be.

Obviously there is little to no on campus accommodation, but when my offer is confirmed, I will be applying to ensure that I am on the waiting list. However, should I start looking at independent halls ect and if so ... How? Where? What? Help!

Look at the facebook freshers group and find people to get a place together with, independent halls are very expensive compared to getting a place with people

i'm in the same boat and i applied a couple of weeks ago and was told there is pretty much no chance of being given uni accommodation. i was sent and email the other day about alternative options and links to private halls: www.residences.qmul.ac.uk/alternative/privatehalls

Hi im starting Economics this year in Qmul!! But im having trouble sorting accommodation aswell.. i applied early to the uni halls but im still only on the waiting list. But they sent me an email today saying that they probably wont reach my application..
Does anyone know any private halls that i could get into really want to get halls so i can meet ppl easier. applied to clarendale house but on a waiting list for there aswell. comming from ireland and am completely lost on where else to apply haha

I rang up and was told that departments have a certain amount of accommodation to allocate to clearing students, so I suggest ringing up like I did to see if you are on their priority list :smile:

think I found it :/ Try joining the freshers/union page, etc
Have you tried talking on the other main queen mary thread? Then ask them if you can

Thank you, I have now joined the groups and no I haven't tried the other QM groups...I have just joined the student room! :smile:
