Applying for a student bank account?

Hey, each time I try to apply for a student bank account online I'm asked for stuff like annual gross income / monthly income - which I don't know, since I'm currently not employed?

Can anyone help me out here - I've never had to apply for a bank account before; my mum had to do my debit card for me when I was still in school.

Your annual gross income would be your student loan. This information really isnt that important when setting up a bank account. I told my bank I earn about £5k a year just so they would stop bothering me with their special offers.

Some banks don't like to open accounts if you have no income as they have no way to make money if there won't be any in your account. (they use your money to make money btw)

As above, £5000 is sufficient...
