Is the second year much harder?

Hey everyone, I do English (at Warwick) and I just wondered how much harder the second year of English is generally. I know it will be slightly more stressful, as the marks will actually start to count, but what about the work itself?

hopefully the extra depth of questions and assignments will be matched with our first year training.

i don't think that you can get away with not doing reading as much... if you didn't read something in the first year and turned up to a seminar, it wouldn't be the biggest deal (though still not something worth doing), but i have a feeling that in the second year, any work or reading missed will have more actual consequences.

plus there's the added pressure that everything now counts towards your degree (I know that's not the same everywhere).
