The advice that I was given was to basically be a smart arse and just brag about what you do. Not that I followed it, be yourself, you dont want to tell a load of lies and get caught out in an interview situation. One of my mates applied for archaeology and wrote that she loved to watch time team and meat the ancestors on tv, but when she came to the interview she got questioned about it and didnt have a clue. Not good. Dont worry about the opening too much as theres a big risk of sounding pretentious. Also not good. A bit of humility may actually be valued. Hope that some of that was useful, good luck.
