French Cuffs / Cuff-links without a tie?

I'm starting work in a few weeks and its business casual (Suit and shirt with no tie).

Almost all my shirts have french cuffs.

Is it okay to wear french cuffs without a tie?

No real hard and fast rule on this; but if it's with a suit it's going to be fine. I wouldn't do it without a jacket, or where taking the jacket off is likely.
