Not quite. Everton had the players that were capable of holding on for those last few games because there was a point where you were more than 3 points ahead iirc and the fixtures were not too difficult. Hull were playing against a far superior team,got very lucky to go 2-0 up and were arguably unlucky not to win it in the end. If Alex Bruce didn't go off injured, we would have won the game because until then, we looked quite solid at the back and he had been the best player on the pitch.
There is a difference between bottling it and being outclassed. Everton bottled it, Hull were outclassed.
