anyone?
From what I can find on their website, the UMS calculation is as follows (RAW mark is the maximum amount of marks that can be earned from the paper, UMS (Uniform Mark Scale) is a complex conversion done by the exam board to ensure that paper difficulty is taken into account)

Paper 1 (English Today): Raw Mark (40) UMS (60)
Paper 2 (Writer's Voice): Raw Mark (64) UMS (120)
3 (Spoken Language) : Raw Mark (96) UMS (120)

120+120+60 = 300

however, this year's boundaries suggest that:

paper 1 = 50 ums raw mark = 40

paper 2 = 150 ums raw mark = 64

paper 3 = 50 ums raw mark = 48
Ah yeah, would probably help if I wasn't reading a PDF from June 2013.

Sorry mate, not sure then!

is it likely to be a miscalculation?
So is the raw mark for (paper) 3 48 instead of 96 this year?

It's been a few years since I did GCSEs so I'm just trying to think logically rather than with any firm knowledge.

yes, since they made the exam count for 60% of the final grade. The information shown on the pdf does not make any sense. If you were to get 100% in anything, you would not get an A*
Link me to the document
