Open units at Bristol university for MSci Physics?

so i'm starting MSci physics this sept and i have to choose my open units. I'm thinking of taking 'Galaxies and the universe' and a language unit (Spanish - i did GCSe spanish and I loved it). can anyone tell me a little bit about those units? are they good options? especially the language unit, is it worth getting myself into something not physics related in first year? I love learning languages and I've been keeping up my spanish and learning some italian since gcses online, but i'm not sure if taking it now is worth it.
someone suggested to me that i should try philosophy options, and i'm sure i'd find it interesting but i'm not really an 'essay-writing' type :P
