Advantages and Disadvantages of Joint honours History and politics Degree BA

Hey

I was just curious if anyone could iron out for me the advantages and disadvantages of studying a joint hours degree in comparison with studying a single honours degree, particularly in the case of History and Politics which is what i am hoping to study in 2015.

Kind regards

The only disadvantage I can think of is that you'll get less optional modules due to having to do core modules in both subjects.

That is a very good point that i didn't think of  thank you
They are highly compatible subjects and work well together. If you are interested in topics like power and how/why its exercised, its probably a good combination.

Its also worth you looking at the new Liberal Arts degrees offered by Exeter, Bristol etc - these 4 year degrees combine a wide range of Arts/Humanities/Social Science subjects *and* a Year Abroad.
