Do it!
I personally wouldn't do Ibiza alone as there are no hostels and as such limited opportunities to meet other people, but there are tons of other party-friendly places I absolutely would and have already been to alone.
If you want to spend a bit of time on the beach and would like to meet other people too, Barcelona is an excellent choice. The actual Barceloneta beach is renowned for being a bit crap, but nearby Sitges (20-25 miles south) is meant to be awesome. Split (Croatia) is another seaside city with a fair few hostels.
If beaches are not essential, also consider Berlin, Lisbon, Prague, Kraków and Budapest (I've been to all five). All places with an excellent party and backpacker scene.
