Why do you feel that needed an eye roll.

Did you verify that 100% goes to charity?
I had UNICEF come yesterday and told them to bog off because the day before I saw the CEO made a freaking killing. Personally, I will never give to any charity that isn't giving 100% of my donations.

Yes, 100% goes to the cause.
That's amazing, well done!

Thanks

We set up a raffle and a cake sale at the firm I'm interning at. Was a pretty good opportunity, everyone there is rich af. We called up businesses within Central London and convinced them to donate prizes to us and we got employees/local confectionery shops to bake and donate cakes to us in which we sold last Friday.

Are raffles permitted in Islam if they're for charity?

Pfft.. I didn't even know they were not permitted. Does it come under gambling?

In answer to your question, I have no idea but it raised me some money so I ain't complaining.

I would have guessed so. But it's difficult to know sometimes.

What kinds of prizes were there?

Some expensive dinner set
Tickets to BBC London Prom
Tickets to Barbican Cinema
Tickets to Tower Bridge expedition
Free meal for two at Strada & Cafe Rouge
And some other stuff I can't remember, to be honest

I had a sheet with everything that was donated to us but it's back at the office.

Would you eat your own poo to triple that number?

If you boast about it, does it not defeat the point?

Admin fee is pretty standard, though again it depends....some take a huge percentage, some don't even tell or list it on their website.
Though again depends who you give to charity, there are very few cases where you get 100% donation policy and even then they usually take the gift aid as it takes so long to claim.
Good for you. Why that charity in particular?

I think http://www.rmhc.org.uk/ are pretty good on donations.

Admin fees such as 600K for the CEO is surreal for sure...
