Because they are too fast, freaky as **** and nothing needs eight legs.

They're just horrifying. The way they look and move .. ugh
It really bugs me that they could get in my face and hair. If they stayed on the ground they wouldn't be so scary.

There are evolutionary reasons to be wary of creepy crawlies. Some of those things are deadly.
I'm not. Spiders are awesome. They catch flies, and flies ****ing suck. Everyone knows that.

I think there is some evidence that shows people are scared for evolutionary reasons. It makes sense because everyone seems to be scared of the same sort of animals.. Spiders, snakes, rats.
