The process of A2 predicted grades?

How do they work?

Is it;

If I get an A in AS Maths, would I get an a* or a predic. ?
It really depends on how much UMS you got and the percentages in your units. Getting an A* is incredibly tricky. Even more so in maths I believe

270/300 for AS Maths = A

Would you say 290+/300 will get you a predic. A*?
It's different in every school/college. Some automatically give their students one above (so if they got ABBC at AS they'd predict A*AAB) which is utterly ridiculous; most keep it at the same grade - it might come down to begging your teachers to put you up a grade if you really need it for uni!

I can't say I'm sure. I think maths is one of the subjects where the criteria for an A* is different to the rest.

240/300 is the A grade boundary for AS, 270+ is the 90% UMS boundary so you should get predicted A* but it depends on your teacher. My teachers ignored that and still predicted me an A, proved them wrong though!

1. Teacher looks at your AS grades
2. Teacher makes a judgement and puts down a grade they think you can realistically achieve

Not exactly rocket science
